How much Resort or hotel tip do you leave in the room, if any? How much tip do you give someone that handles your bags like a bellhop or a shuttle driver?
When a person handles your bags, it is customary to tip them $2.00 per bag. If a person is handling your bags twice in a short time period, such as the shuttle bus driver who puts the bags in the bus and then takes them out a few minutes later, only tip when you get to your destination.
Leaving a tip for the people that clean the room is a little bit more arbitrary, depending on how much service is provided. For a reasonably clean room with fresh towels and accoutrements as well as beds made, I tip $5 per day. Take note that you can’t just leave a Fiver laying on the dresser or they won’t take it. You must have it with a note or envelope. Don’t wait until the end of your stay to tip for all the days you stayed or the person that gets your tip may not be the person that diligently cared for your room. Tip daily.
Now if your hotel or resort has other service providers such as a salon or massage provider, restaurant server, etc, then tip them as you would outside of a hotel stay. Hope this helps!
